Yes, the iReady assessments replaced the benchmark tests in reading and math that were administered three times per year for students in grades 3-5. State Statute 1088.22 requires students in elementary schools to monitor the progress in English language arts (ELA), mathematics, and science. Schools have used this assessment for many years. The science benchmark test is still given to students in grades 3-5. Additionally, the iReady assessments replaced the FAIR (Florida Assessment for Instruction in reading) assessments developed by the state of Florida.
