REQUIRED EPA/AHERA NOTIFICATION PER 40 CFR PART 763

This notice is to provide you with the required, yearly notification and status report in compliance with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Asbestos Emergency Response Act (AHERA). This notification is part of the Martin County School District continuing asbestos management program that has been in effect since 1987.
Every three years, the District has its facilities formally re-inspected for the condition of any identified Asbestos-Containing Materials (ACBM) that may still be remaining in the school campus buildings. This is in conjunction with an also ongoing reassessment and surveillance of the ACBM that occurs every 6 months. This is that is part of the District’s commitment to confirm to that any remaining materials are in an essentially undamaged condition.
The purpose of the six-month surveillances and three-year re-inspections is to proactively identify any changed conditions, locations, if any, that and ensures that the proper management of asbestos occurs throughout your school system.
The documentation is included in the “AHERA Management Plan” for each of the school campuses and is available for review at the schools’ administration office. In addition, any additional questions and comments can be directed to:
