WHY: In November 2018, Martin County voters generously approved a half-cent sales tax increase to provide funding for a variety of critical capital projects in the Martin County School District. The seven-year increase went into effect in January 2019 and will generate approximately $112 million for repairs, renovations and security enhancements throughout the District, including approximately $64 million dedicated to the complete replacement of the aging Jensen Beach and Palm City elementary schools.  Interested members of the public are invited and encouraged to attend one or both of the virtual information sessions to hear the latest updates about the school replacement projects.   To learn more about all of the capital projects that are being funded by the half-cent sales tax increase, please visit our website.
