    COVID-19 Vaccine Update April 1, 2021

Beginning March 29, all persons 40 years of age and older are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccines in Florida. To see Governor DeSantis'Executive Order CLICK HERE

In addition, beginning April 5, all Florida residents shall be eligible to receive any COVID-19 vaccine as prescribed by the Food and Drug Administration. The Pfizer vaccine is authorized for persons age 16 and up. The Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines are authorized for persons age 18 and up.

We encourage you to take the first vaccine that becomes available to you as opposed to waiting for a particular vaccine.

Vaccines are becoming more available every week from different sources and we will do our best to inform you of any additional changes in a timely manner.  Please be sure to stay current by checking your District email and this webpage for updates.

We are excited to let you know that options for obtaining a vaccine for employees of the Martin County School District are increasing. Please read carefully as each option is a little different. As of today, March 30, we have the following options:

    • April 1 Unfortunately, Kairwell was not able to obtain the vaccines that were previously proposed for April 3 for our employees.  They are working hard to provide another date for the vaccinations in the next few weeks to replace the April 3 date. For the employees that received their first vaccination on March 27, 2021, the second vaccine will still be available for April 17.  All of those employees have been informed to return to Kairwell on April. Please go to the same location that you received the first vaccine on April 17.In the meantime, employees either go to Kairwell’s website (www.newlifepharmacytradition.com) to schedule a vaccination based on availability or try to call the pharmacy at 772.877.1125

In the meantime, see below information on vaccine locations:

Federal Distribution sites include Publix, Walmart, Walgreens, Winn Dixie, CVS  and Sam’s Clubs.  This is important to note as they will have additional vaccine allocation over and above the state allocation.  We understand that vaccine availability varies by county, notably with regard to who administers the vaccine.

State allocations come from the Health Department.  As always, our county health department is the best relevant local resource on these matters.  Their vaccine website is below:
