• School Clinic

The school health program is here to protect and promote the health status of students in our school. It is to supplement not replace parent responsibility and encourage parental awareness of students’ health status, discover and prevent health problems and encourage utilization of physicians, dentists and community health services.

    Message from Cheryl Kennedy:

I am here to provide assistance in evaluating present or potential health problems to assure that a student’s learning potential will not be lessened by physical or mental health obstacles. Providing the essential liaison between the health and educational needs of pupils with chronic illness, handicaps, psychological problems and contagious disease are among the major responsibilities I have as the school health assistant. My goal is to assist pupils who become ill or injured at school and to get the student back to class as soon as possible to receive the maximum benefit from their educational experience. It is not my intent to diagnose a problem, but rather to screen for potential health problems and to refer the students and parents to the appropriate resources.
    My other responsibilities are:

Assist and/or conduct routine vision, hearing, height and weight for BMI
Administer student medications in accordance with the Physician and MCSD
Provide comfort measures/first aid to students with minor illness
Notify parent and administration if student appears acutely ill or injured
Implement policy on exclusion and readmission of students in regard to communicable disease
    Maintain confidentiality at all times
Maintain CPR, AED , First Aid and EPI-pen administration
Participates in school safety procedures and programs
