    Mission statement or background information
    Brief description of club activities: _The NJHS has three activities that we participate in every year and those are Food for Families, a field trip to Gertrude Walden Child Care Center, and the SMS Talent Show. Other activities/projects done throughout the school year are chosen by the officers and members. Expectations for club members: All members are required to maintain a 3.5 GPA and to complete 40 hours of documented community service. These community service hours can be earned in school during NJHS activities/projects and/or out of school at pre-approved volunteer sites. A list of pre-approved sites is provided to all members. Other sites not on the list must be approved by the club sponsor. NJHS strives to make a difference in our community and to have all of our members be excellent representatives of Stuart Middle School.
    Requirements to join
    Students in 6th or 7th grade who have maintained a 3.5 GPA or higher during the 1st and 2nd quarter are eligible to submit an application to the Faculty Council at SMS. Students who are picked to join will be inducted into the society in the Spring to become members for the following school year during their 7th and 8th grade year. If a student is inducted during their 6th grade year, they do not need to reapply during their 7th grade year.
