Based on a recommendation from the Florida Department of Education and a ‘Safer at Home’ order issued for Florida, all Martin County School District-operated schools will remain closed for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. Digital Learning will continue during this time. While Governor Ron DeSantis has advised that school grades will not be issued for this school year, this does not mean students will not receive grades. This action refers to to the state accountability system and the issuance of grades to schools and districts in the state of Florida. Students will continue to receive grades and report cards as usual. Students must participate in daily instruction and assignments for the remainder of the school year, as this will impact their fourth-quarter grades.
Final report cards for the 2019-2020 school year will be posted to the Focus Portal soon after the last day of school and will include grades earned during the period of school closure and digital instruction. The Martin County School District will retain its grade of A for the upcoming school year and each individual school will retain its current school grade.
All field trips, athletic events, activities, clubs and other school or District-related events have been canceled for the remainder of the school year.
