Why was my exam canceled?
All Pearson VUE-owned test centers and some independent test centers have closed. These closures are based on guidance from local governments and health authorities and may be extended if it is not yet safe to resume testing based on local conditions. Will I get a refund if my exam is canceled?
If your exam payment was processed through Pearson VUE, you will receive a full refund, regardless of the cancellation window. When can I reschedule my exam?
You can attempt to reschedule your exam online now. You’ll only be able to register for an exam if testing is available on that date. If you do not see an appointment available for a specific date at a specific test center, testing may not yet be available there due to local conditions. Please check back regularly for updated availability. You can also reschedule your exam with no penalty if you feel sick or uncomfortable going to a test center during this time. When will test centers and adult education centers reopen?
The COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic continues to evolve globally, and we are closely monitoring the impact on test delivery. Our first priority is the health and safety of our testing candidates and employees around the world. As soon as it is safe for testing to resume at your test center, you will be able to schedule your exam online through your GED.com account. Adult education and GED preparation programs are following guidance from local governments and health authorities and will resume classes based on local conditions. What health and safety measures are being taken at open test centers?
Independent test centers have been strongly encouraged to implement a strict cleaning regimen and abide by social distancing guidelines. This may include providing hand sanitizer to candidates upon entering the test center and sanitizing the surface and equipment of each workstation after the end of every appointment. It is recommended that any equipment used during the check-in process is also sanitized after every use. Social distancing guidelines suggest 6 feet of space between individuals. Test centers may need to limit workstation availability to ensure that a safe distance can be maintained between candidates.I can’t attend in-person classes or take the test right now, what can I do in the meantime?
We encourage you to stay committed to your GED journey despite this challenging time. We have online resources and study tools you can use to start or continue preparation for the GED test subjects.
