The Martin County School District has implemented its digital instruction plan for students. This plan allows for student flexibility in accessing coursework and programming, as we understand students may be sharing a computer with siblings or working on assignments at varying times throughout the day. During this time, teachers will use the District's comprehensive collection of online content and digital resources to prepare lessons and activities that will be accessed by your child.

The District is using Google Classroom for virtual instruction.
Here is important information for you to know about your child’s Google Classroom and digital citizenship:- Students MUST sign in through ClassLink each day prior to accessing coursework in any other program. This is mandatory for attendance and record-keeping purposes. If already logged in from a previous session the day before, students should log out and log back into ClassLink to indicate a new session for the day.
- If a student is using a District-issued laptop, they should click the "ClassLink" icon displayed on their device's home screen.
- If they are using a personal device, they must visit martinschools.org and click the ClassLink icon on the homepage to access Google Classroom.
- If a student is using a District-issued laptop, they should click the "ClassLink" icon displayed on their device's home screen.
The District has introduced Zoom as its new platform for live instruction. Teachers currently have the option to host Zoom meetings in their Google Classrooms.- Teachers will post in their Google Classrooms if and when they will use Zoom and the links will be provided to students via Google Classroom. Students will not need to download anything, create an account or access Zoom via ClassLink.
Student accounts, including Google Classroom and associated products, are NOT to be used for the following purposes:
- Unauthorized personal communication that impedes instruction
- Bullying or harassment of other students (FS1006.147; School Board Policy 5517.01 & 7540)
- Sending inappropriate content or language
- Social Media, blogs, and chat rooms (School Board Policy 7540 & 7540.03).
- Providing personal information - including passwords and other identifying information - to non-authorized personnel, individuals who are not employees of the District, and/or students attending District-sanctioned virtual events and classroom lessons.
- Taking pictures and/or videos of live lessons and sharing them on social media is a violation of the Code of Student Conduct and will result in disciplinary action.
- Any student who provides passwords or other identifying information (including teacher email addresses) to individuals who are not authorized to attend a class that the student is attending may be held liable for violating the Code of Student Conduct.
- Please discuss with your child the importance of keeping all information related to their virtual classes confidential - this will help prevent disruptions to the learning environment.
- Taking pictures and/or videos of live lessons and sharing them on social media is a violation of the Code of Student Conduct and will result in disciplinary action.
- Students who violate any of these policies will face discipline as outlined in the Code of Student Conduct and - depending on the offense - potential legal repercussions.
