The MCSD Sponsored its annual cooking contest; its “Chopped” theme brought a whole new level of creativity to the competition, as contestants were required to use secret ingredients in their dishes. All of the contestants and each of the 40 dish submissions were very impressive. One winner was chosen from each round (appetizer, entrée, and dessert) by a panel of judges who were tasting and evaluating the food blindly. And those winners are:

    Appetizer – Ciara Gill from MCHS with Shrimp Ceviche with Cranberries and Tomatillos and Tomatillo Salsa

    Entrée – Stacey Ayers from SMS with Chard and Shrimp with Pickled Beets

    Dessert – Sheri Tschinkel from ESC with Gingerbread Cheesecake with Dark Chocolate Ganache and Clementine Glaze
