Overview

  • The Martin County School District provides excess insurance coverage for students participating in approved Athletic programs.  Administered by Special Markets/Gerber Life Insurance, the plan provides limited excess coverage for medical expenses that arise from treatment of accidental injuries while a student participates in these District approved interscholastic sports.  This plan has a $300 deductible that is not covered by the District and will be your responsibility.

Please read the attached policy information explaining the coverage under the student insurance plan, the limited benefits, and the maximum amount payable on certain expenses.  The program is based on all students being covered with the payment of medical expenses made ONLY IN EXCESS over all other family or employer group insurance.  (Please note that Florida Healthy Kids or Medicaid is secondary to this athletic insurance.)

NOTE: THIS IS NOT A GUARANTEE OF PAYMENT FOR MEDICAL SERVICES.  YOU MAY ENCOUNTER CERTAIN OUT-OF-POCKET EXPENSES WHEN YOUR CHILD IS TREATED FOR ACCIDENTAL INJURIES.

Again, be sure you read the insurance information and follow the correct procedures in the event an accidental student injury requires medical treatment.  If you have any questions regarding this coverage or need a claim form, please call WEB-TPA at 1-866-975-9468 or our Agent at 800-431-2221 or (772) 287-7650.  For assistance in Spanish, call (800) 431-2221 ext. 8594.
