On September 22, 2020, the Martin County School District selected Dr. John D. Millay as its next Superintendent of Schools.
In November 2018, Martin County voters passed a referendum granting the School Board of Martin County the authority to appoint the Superintendent of Schools. Superintendent Laurie J. Gaylord's second term as the elected Superintendent will expire in November 2020. The Martin County School Board is working with the Florida School Boards Association to conduct a search for an appointed Superintendent who will begin employment with the District on November 17, 2020.
Public involvement is welcomed and encouraged during the search process. A Community Advisory Committee made up of citizens who represent a cross-section of Martin County will be selected by School Board Members to take part in the search. An online survey has also been utilized to give all members of the community a voice in this process.
The application period has now closed. Applications from interested candidates were accepted May 15 - July 15, 2020.
This webpage will be used to share important information regarding the Superintendent Search.
